Automotive
The Automotive Service Technician class prepares students for employment in various areas of the automotive industry. Four main areas are covered: brakes, electrical, suspension and steering, and engine performance. Students are allowed hands-on experience in the automotive shop as well as classroom and computer lab based lessons to prepare them for the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) exams in the four areas that are taught in this class.

The Computer Service Technology class allows students the opportunity to learn about computers in the workplace through hands on practice in the classroom. Students will also use software to design websites and create videos and pictures. Returning students have the opportunity to apply for the internship through the Livingston Parish School Board that allows them to work with computer techs in local schools.

The Criminal Justice Course is designed to give students an in-depth look at the Criminal Justice System, as well as the opportunity to become a Certified 911 Dispatcher. Topics of study include the American Criminal Justice System, Department of Corrections, American Policing Practices, Social Problems, and Emergency Telecommunications Ethics and Procedures. Students will be prepared for a challenging, yet rewarding, career in the field of Criminal Justice.

The medical office administrator field is one of the fastest growing job markets in the medical industry. In the Medical Office Assistant course the students are prepared to enter the employment market trained to work in medical jobs such as medical secretaries, medical transcriptions, medical office assistants, medical receptionist, billing and coding clerks, and accounting clerks. This course also offers each student the opportunity to take the Certified billing and coding Specialist exam.

The Patient Care Technician program prepares individuals for a variety of job opportunities in health occupations. Graduates may find employment in care facilities, hospitals, laboratories, and clinics where bedside nursing skills are required, as well as the skills of phlebotomy, performing electrocardiograms(EKG), stress testing, and holter monitoring procedures. Upon successful completion of this program, students may be eligible to take certifications exams in Phlebotomy, Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, and/or Patient Care Technician.

The course prepares students for entry level positions as a Pharmacy Technician. Emphasis is placed on skills development in assisting the pharmacist to record and maintain records, label medications, perform computer patient billing, perform stock inventory, drug classification and order supplies. An internship is required which enables the student to gain experience in a pharmacy. The student will take the national PTCB examination. Following graduation, the student may seek a Louisiana license as a Pharmacy Technician by working in a pharmacy setting (600 clock hours).
